Answering Service Care starts at $40/month (pay per use at $1.75/min), and 100 three-minute calls a month cost $409 on its cheapest published live plan (prices checked October 12, 2026). That estimate excludes time before an agent answers, after-call work, setup and an annual maintenance fee whose amount the company does not publish.

Answering Service Care pricing plans

Prices checked against Answering Service Care's live answering plan cards on October 12, 2026. The pricing page and terms were also read October 9, 2026 for the fee and billing clauses below.

Live planPrice and allowancePast the allowanceThe math
Starter$40/month plus $1.75 a minute$1.75 a minute$40 base + $1.75/min used
Small Business$179/month for 100 minutes$1.70 a minute$179 ÷ 100 min = $1.79/min
Pro$329/month for 250 minutes$1.60 a minute$329 ÷ 250 min = $1.32/min
Enterprise$639/month for 500 minutes$1.35 a minute$639 ÷ 500 min = $1.28/min

Source: answeringservicecare.com/pricing, read Oct 12, 2026. The plan cards are the basis for every price in this table. Text farther down the same vendor page gives different figures for Starter's extra minutes and for Pro and Enterprise. It does not explain why. We use the plan cards, which sit beside the signup buttons. This discrepancy is worth checking on a written quote before you enroll.

The pricing page also displays a prepaid annual option for Small Business, Pro and Enterprise. The annual display does not remove the terms' annual maintenance fee, which is billed separately in advance and has no published amount. The monthly estimates here use the monthly plans, not an annual discount. They also exclude add-ons, taxes and the setup fee.

What Answering Service Care costs at 50, 100 and 200 calls

Calls a monthMonthly costPer callPer year at that monthly usage
50$264$5.28 a call$3,168
100$409$4.09 a call$4,908
200$774$3.87 a call$9,288

Our arithmetic: the cheapest published monthly plan at each volume plus its published overage, at 3-minute calls. These are plan and usage totals before setup, maintenance, taxes, add-ons and billable time outside the conversation. The yearly column repeats the monthly estimate, not the vendor's prepaid annual quote. How we price.

At 100 calls, the modeled talk time is 300 minutes. Pro includes 250 minutes at $329/month for 250 minutes; usage beyond that is charged at $1.60 a minute. The modeled monthly total is $409. At 200 calls, Enterprise is cheaper than buying Pro and paying its overage. The plan changes as usage grows, so the entry price does not describe a working month with regular calls.

Answering Service Care's own pricing FAQ says answering service calls last roughly three minutes. That makes the shared call length useful here, but it does not capture hold, routing or message work. If you make outbound calls through the service, the FAQ says those count toward usage too. Use your own call logs to test the estimate in the answering service cost calculator.

How Answering Service Care counts a minute

  • Billing unit: Per minute
  • Rounding: Whole minute, rounded up
  • Billed beyond talk time: Time before an agent answers and post-call work ("cradle to grave"); message calls to you use minutes
  • Spam and short calls: Robocalls billed unless you add the $12.95/month spam blocker

The service terms say usage starts at the call's "inception" in Answering Service Care's systems and continues through completion and "any post-call related work." Its invoice guide calls this "cradle to grave" and includes "wrap time" (both read October 9, 2026). That clock is broader than time spent speaking to a caller. It can begin before a receptionist answers, though the company gives no separate rule for time in its queue.

The same terms say any partial minute is rounded up to a whole minute. They do not explicitly say whether that happens per call or once to the account's total usage. We have not added an assumed rounding increment to the table. Ask Answering Service Care to show a bill with several short calls and its rounding for each before comparing it with a by-the-second service. Our billing-increment guide shows why the distinction matters.

Your own calls to connect forwarding can use the allowance: the vendor FAQ says that time is "automatically deducted from your allowance." If Answering Service Care phones you to deliver a message, its pricing page says "outbound calls count towards your usage" (both read October 9, 2026). Neither leg appears in the plain three-minute-call estimate.

Fees, contract and trial

  • Setup fee: $50, plus an annual maintenance fee, amount not published
  • Contract: Month-to-month on monthly billing; written notice one full billing period ahead; no refunds
  • Trial: None found

An annual fee without a public amount. The terms say the annual maintenance fee applies to "all active accounts," is billed a year in advance, and cannot be prorated or refunded (read October 9, 2026). This charge is not shown in the live plan cards. Ask for its amount and the first invoice total. The vendor's FAQ describes the fee as "a mandated charge" but also gives no amount.

Autopay and payment timing. The terms require ACH or card autopay after go-live. They say clients who decline it owe a fee equal to one month of service. The terms also say plan fees are billed in advance, while usage is billed in arrears, so the first and final invoices can look different from the plan card. The invoice guide separates the service period from usage (read October 9, 2026).

Cancellation. The pricing FAQ says customers can "cancel your service flexibly" as their needs change. The terms require notice "in writing at least one (1) full billing period in advance" and say prepaid or unused subscription fees are not refunded (read October 9, 2026). A monthly buyer should plan for a full monthly notice period; an annual buyer should ask how the notice clause applies to the annual billing period before paying upfront. See month-to-month answering services for the wording across vendors.

The catches on the published price

  1. The same page gives conflicting prices. The current live plan cards differ from the explanatory text on Starter overage and the Pro and Enterprise base plans (pricing page, read October 9, 2026). The page does not date either set of numbers. We price the cards and recommend getting the plan and overage in writing.
  2. The meter is wider than a phone conversation. The pricing FAQ says calls are billed for "the actual time spent handling your live calls," while the terms begin at the call's inception in the system and include post-call work (read October 9, 2026). A script with transfers, dispatch or lengthy notes can outgrow the modeled talk time.
  3. The annual maintenance fee is omitted from the cards. The terms say it applies to all active accounts, with no published amount or refund. The fee makes the plan card an incomplete first-year quote.
  4. Robocall relief costs extra. The Spam Blocker page says its paid add-on prevents charges for robocalls (read October 9, 2026). It does not publish a no-fee rule for wrong numbers or short hang-ups. Compare spam call billing rules.
  5. Bilingual wording conflicts on the plan page. The page says bilingual operators are included in all plans, but its plan cards separately price "Live Multilingual" (pricing page, read October 9, 2026). The page does not clarify which languages trigger that rate. Confirm the language and any extra charge on a written quote.

Where Answering Service Care is a good buy

At 200 three-minute calls, the modeled monthly cost is $774. That is below MAP Communications at $777 and Specialty Answering Service at $783. Go Answer at $700 and ReceptionHQ ReceptionistPlus at $505 cost less at the same volume, before their own extras. At 100 calls, MAP and Specialty each cost less than Answering Service Care. This is a narrow monthly plan comparison, not a ranking of answer quality.

At 50 calls, Answering Service Care costs $264, below AnswerForce at $349. At 100 calls the order flips: AnswerForce costs $389, against $409. The plans change at different usage levels, so there is no single permanent winner across volumes.

Answering Service Care includes round-the-clock answering and call transfers in its live plan cards. Its home-services page describes an on-call roster that can patch urgent callers to a technician. Its property-management page describes screening maintenance calls before alerting staff (both read October 9, 2026). Those are specific reasons to request a workflow demo if calls need dispatch, not just message-taking. Test what work creates billable minutes during the demo.

How much does Answering Service Care cost per month?

Its Starter plan begins at $40/month (pay per use at $1.75/min). At 100 three-minute calls, the cheapest published monthly live plan costs $409 before setup, maintenance and extra billable time. The price index read its plan cards on October 12, 2026.

Yes. Its pricing FAQ says a one-time setup fee covers account customization, scripts and routing. Its terms also impose an annual maintenance fee without publishing the amount.

Can I cancel Answering Service Care at any time?

Its paid Spam Blocker add-on prevents robocall charges, according to the vendor. The plan cards do not include the add-on and the site does not state that wrong numbers or short hang-ups are free.

The terms say partial minutes round up to a whole minute. They do not specify whether that rule is applied to each call or to aggregated usage. Ask for a sample invoice with several short calls.

How these prices were read

Every price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page, on the date in its Source cell, and saved as a dated capture. Monthly plans use the cheapest published plan plus overage at 3-minute calls. AnswerAmerica shows the least upfront prepaid credit purchase covering that call volume; unused credits roll over. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.
