Source: mapcommunications.com/pricing, read Oct 12, 2026. MAP's pricing page lists English and Spanish answering, a toll-free number, message delivery and around-the-clock coverage on every plan. It invites businesses with unusual call volume to request a custom quote, without publishing a larger plan.
The plan cards show monthly charges and minute rates. MAP's terms list a separate per-call telecom fee, flat compliance and technology fees, and a holiday fee, read October 7, 2026. The last three amounts are unpublished. Our table below excludes them because the published information cannot produce a complete invoice.
What MAP Communications costs at different call volumes
| Calls a month | Monthly cost | Per call | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | $90.10 | $9.01 a call | $1,081 |
| 30 | $172.30 | $5.74 a call | $2,068 |
| 50 | $211.50 | $4.23 a call | $2,538 |
| 100 | $403 | $4.03 a call | $4,836 |
| 200 | $777 | $3.88 a call | $9,324 |
Our arithmetic: each row uses MAP's cheapest published plan for that volume, then applies its published minute rate to three-minute calls. It excludes rounding beyond those whole minutes, after-call work, taxes, telecom and other fees. How we price.
The plan changes with usage. At 30 calls, Pay As You Go produces $172.30. At 50 calls, Business produces $211.50. At 100 calls, Enterprise produces $403. A quote for a larger plan might change the last row, but its price is not published.
The 100-call example assumes 300 minutes of conversation. Enterprise charges $339/month for 250 minutes and $1.28 a minute for each of the remaining 50 minutes. The result is $403 before other billed time and fees.

How MAP counts minutes
- Billing unit: Per minute
- Rounding: Whole minute, rounded up
- Billed beyond talk time: After-call work with no cap, plus other work on your account
- Spam and short calls: No exclusion; MAP says spam is "not something we have control over"
MAP's terms say partial minutes are "rounded up to the nearest whole minute." They do not specify whether rounding applies to each call or the monthly total. The same paragraph says usage runs from when a receptionist answers until transfer, voicemail or disconnection. It also counts "any time a receptionist spends completing any information on your call after the caller has hung up" and "other work on your account." (mapcommunications.com/terms, read October 7, 2026)
That matters for calls involving a transfer or detailed intake. A three-minute conversation followed by documentation can consume more than three billable minutes. MAP publishes no cap on the follow-up work. It also does not publish a separate excluded-call rule for wrong numbers, hangups or spam. Its reply to a spam-call complaint says such calls are "not something we have control over" and suggests screening procedures, read October 7, 2026. The reply is MAP's statement. We did not test its screening.
Fees, contract and trial
- Setup fee: Not published
- Contract: Month-to-month; written notice one month before the next invoice
- Trial: 7 days, no card
Fees outside the plan cards. MAP's terms say its additional fees "are not mandated or imposed by law but are determined by us." They name the Telecom Fee, Compliance/Regulation Use Fee, Technology Fee and Holiday Fee. The terms give a per-call amount for telecom, but no amount for the three flat fees. Credit card payments may also incur a surcharge; debit card, ACH and check payments do not. (mapcommunications.com/terms, sections 7 and 9, read October 7, 2026) Ask MAP for a sample invoice at your call volume, including each fee and payment method, before buying.
Nights versus holidays. MAP says "100 minutes of receptionist time is 100 minutes whether those calls are handled during the day or after hours." (MAP answering-services page, read October 7, 2026) Its terms separately list a flat Holiday Fee on seven major holidays. The amount and the specific holidays are not published. A business that needs holiday coverage should get that fee in writing.
Cancellation. The terms renew monthly. Written notice must reach MAP at least one month before the next invoice due date, and subscription fees are non-refundable. The terms also charge for every whole or partial month the agreement remains active. (mapcommunications.com/terms, sections 7 and 8, read October 7, 2026) MAP's FAQ says "30 day notice to cancel" and no early termination fee, read October 7, 2026. Plan the notice date from the invoice, rather than assuming an immediate stop.
Trial. MAP's trial page offers seven days and says "Cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime with no fees," read October 7, 2026. That wording is broader than the written-notice and no-refund terms. Ask whether the notice rule applies during or after the trial, and save the answer.
The catches in MAP's terms
- The cost can exceed the plan-table calculation. MAP bills after-call work, plus other account work, and rounds partial minutes up. Neither the length of that work nor its monthly total is published. (MAP terms, section 7, read October 7, 2026)
- Fees appear in the terms rather than the price cards. MAP lists telecom, compliance, technology and holiday fees. Only telecom has a published amount. The card surcharge has no published rate. (MAP terms, sections 7 and 9, read October 7, 2026)
- The trial's cancellation promise needs a narrower reading. The trial page says "Cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime with no fees." The terms require written notice one month before the next invoice and say subscription fees are non-refundable. (MAP trial page and MAP terms, read October 7, 2026)
- The included number may not travel with you. MAP says clients have "no property rights to any telephone number" it assigns and that MAP may change assigned numbers. (MAP terms, section 13, read October 7, 2026) If you intend to advertise its included toll-free number, settle number portability before launch.
- There is no fixed price-change notice in the published clause. MAP reserves the right to change prices "in any manner and at any time." (MAP terms, section 7, read October 7, 2026) Ask whether a proposed agreement adds a notice period.
Where MAP is a good fit
Steady call traffic during nights and weekends. MAP says every plan includes around-the-clock coverage and English and Spanish fluency. Its after-hours explanation says minutes have the same rate in the day and after hours. Holiday calls are the exception because its terms list a separate fee. (MAP pricing page and after-hours explanation, read October 5 and 7, 2026)
A business that wants live receptionists and an employee-owned provider. MAP says it is "100% Employee-Owned" and describes its staff as the owners of the business. (MAP who-we-are page, read October 7, 2026) The pricing cards include message delivery; MAP's FAQ also describes call transfers. This is a fit question, not a claim about call quality.
Some call volumes. At 50 three-minute calls, MAP costs $211.50 against Go Answer's $262.50 and PATLive's $293.50. At 100 calls Go Answer costs $345 against MAP's $403. The order can change when a bundle becomes available, so compare your actual volume and needed tasks. These figures exclude each vendor's extra fees and billed follow-up work.

How these prices were read
Every price on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page, on the date in its Source cell, and saved as a dated capture. Monthly plans use the cheapest published plan plus overage at 3-minute calls. AnswerAmerica shows the least upfront prepaid credit purchase covering that call volume; unused credits roll over. Vendors that hide prices stay in the tables as quote only. We do not test answering quality and publish no ratings.

VoiceNation now redirects to Moneypenny.
- Sameday AI added (home services only, read October 5, 2026): Launch from $449/month with 500 minutes, Scale from $789/month with 1,000 minutes. Like Slang.ai, it is listed but kept out of the category ranges because it serves one vertical.
- First edition: 30 providers read from their own pricing pages. AnswerConnect, AnswerForce, LEX Reception, Answering Legal and Nexa ask for a form or a sales call before showing a price, so they are listed as quote only. VoiceNation publishes the same plan table as Moneypenny (US), so that table is listed once, under Moneypenny.
